ROOT
a collaborative crossover
exhibition of contemporary art and music originated by Thurston Moore,
of New York band Sonic Youth, at the Chisenhale Gallery, London. Visual
artists and musicians were sent recordings by Thurston Moore that had
never made it to final distribution. The resulting music, artworks and
sound installations were presented at the Chisenhale Gallery alongside
a limited edition CD, a 5 piece vinyl box set and a catalogue that
accompanied the exhibtion. Artists and musicians who took part in the
show in one form or another included Blur, Gavin Turk, Tim Head,
Mogwai, Rebecca Warren and David Bowie. | | |
